I wanted to travel South America for a long time and Colombia was the country where I touched down first. Colombia had a rough past and it’s wonderful to see how much the country developed in the last years. Nowadays, Colombia is a safe destination even for solo backpackers and travelers with lovely, welcoming and open-minded locals.

Colombia was the perfect first destination in South America and I enjoyed my time backpacking Colombia a lot. There’s a great diversity, from the big cities Medellin and Bogotá to the unique landscape of the Cocora Valley and the Caribbean and tropical flair at Colombia’s northern coast – Colombia won’t be boring!
